The project modernizes outdated systems and integrates financial operations across two of the city’s major development agencies: the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee (RACM) and the Neighborhood Improvement Development Corporation (NIDC).

To better support these efforts, DCD needed a connected, transparent, and modern financial system to replace legacy software and manual workflows.

Prior to this project, DCD faced challenges with outdated systems, limited data integration, manual disconnected processes and inconsistent reporting across agencies. These constraints hindered real-time insights and efficiency. Seeking a robust enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, DCD partnered with OnActuate to unify financial processes, streamline reporting, and enhance visibility across departments.

Delivering Unified Operations Through Microsoft Dynamics 365

In collaboration with DCD, OnActuate implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain in just six months, replacing legacy ERP and property billing systems for RACM and NIDC. The new platform automates workflows, centralizes financial management, and aligns processes with public sector best practices.

Delivered with collaboration from Microsoft’s FastTrack program, the solution enhances transparency, efficiency, and real-time reporting – laying the foundation for continued modernization across Milwaukee’s city operations. With built-in AI capabilities in Microsoft Dynamics 365, the solution also equips DCD with intelligent insights to support smarter decision-making and continuous improvement.
