Viscor | OnActuate

Viscor Inc. (Viscor) is a Toronto-based manufacturer specializing in LED and fluorescent lighting products, as well as metal fabrication. Viscor is Canada’s largest independent lighting manufacturer under the Visioneering, Certolux, and TBR lighting brands. Since its inception in 1952, Viscor has manufactured a diverse range of products including electronic and stereo components and solid state ballasts. The micro-furnace ceramic heater was invented and developed at Viscor, and it maintains the capability to manufacture almost any sheet metal product required or requested while leading the way with modern technology and advanced processes. Viscor employs over 300 people and offers more than 150 product families across North America.

Business Challenge

Although utilizing Microsoft Dynamics AX and Salesforce, the systems were operating as stand-alones and the lack of integration and synchronization was presenting the team with multiple problems, including duplication of efforts and poor sales visibility. Viscor knew it needed help to solve the issues and determined the solution had to be in place within six months—this required outsourced system integration expertise.

Solution

To meet the aggressive timeline, OnActuate was quick to form a team of experts and develop a global integration connector between Viscor’s existing Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Dynamics AX systems. Now Viscor is able to share customer order and sales data across the enterprise. This has resulted in 15% productivity and efficiency improvements since the implementation—and this number continues to grow—all at a reduced cost to the business
