Business Challenge

The original implementations of Dynamics 365 CE, F&O were on-premise. Given the department’s current workload of multiple system projects to support their expanded programs, it was decided they needed to migrate Dynamics 365 F&O to Azure. This will allow the PFML to extend its current systems capabilities to support the additional traffic and demands of managing the Washington Cares Fund to its service portfolio.

Solution

OnActuate’s proposal reflected PFML’s requirements for a ‘lift and shift’ of the on-premise system to the current version of Dynamics 365 F&O on Azure. As part of this project, the OnActuate Team would conduct a detailed analysis of their current business process and would improvise areas and processes in the system to achieve required business objectives.

The initial planning has started with an official kickoff in January 2023. The project duration is expected to be about seven months. The Azure government cloud platform would provide PFML needed increased uptime, enhanced security, enhanced Microsoft product support and more current up-dates with the online version, better capability for planned Dynamics 365 development and deployment on Azure and being able to leverage Azure hosting.
